CESA 2’s Paraeducator training is an asynchronous 6-8 hour training ideal for the new Paraeducator or those who might appreciate a refresher in terms of roles and responsibilities. There are currently two trainings available:
Option 1: General Paraeducator Training
The training includes:
- Roles and Responsibilities: What is the role of the teacher? What is the role of the Paraeducator?
- Confidentiality: What are the considerations for confidentiality?
- Communication: What are the critical elements of communication?
- Behavior: What are the critical elements of behavior management?
- Students with Special Needs: What is important to know?
- English Learners: Strategies and supports
- Technology Tools: Use and purpose
Option 2: EL/Bilingual Paraeducator Training
This new asynchronous course aims to provide EL and bilingual paraeducators with specific tools to support learner agency and advocacy within the schools and communities that they serve. This course is designed specifically for EL and bilingual paraeducators and builds awareness of many factors influencing English Learner education in the United States.
