Common Core State Standards: Why Should I Care?
Join higher education faculty across all disciplines, K-12 administrators and cooperating teachers at the College and Career Readiness Partnership summit on February 19, 2014, Chula Vista Resort, Wisconsin Dells, WI.
Don't miss keynote speaker David Conley, CEO of the Educational Policy Improvement Center and author of Getting Ready for College, Careers and Common Core.
We need to better define college readiness in light of the new standards, reduce remedial educaiton to save students and colleges money, and provide more dual enrollment/credit options for high-achieving high school students. Teacher preparation programs need to produce graduates with knowledge and competencies to incorporate Common Core into their teaching. Be a part of the discussion to find meaningful solutions and share information on the impact of Common Core on higher education curriculum.
Breakout sessions include an overview of the Common Core State Standards and available resources, higher education placement and remediation, what it means to be college ready, and teacher performance assessment.
The cost is $49 and includes breakfast, lunch and a copy of David Conley's book Getting Ready for College, Careers and Common Core.
